USEMI is proud to be facilitating a new specialist service for Lambeth Council's Redress Scheme.

The USEMI Redress project aims to address the psychological impact of the abuse that was experienced by many who were placed in Lambeth children’s homes.

In-person support starts on Wednesday 15 June at Effra Space, Brixton, and includes:
  • A weekly drop-in every Wednesday from 3:30pm to 6:00pm with therapists available for confidential one-to-one emotional support on demand
  • A peer support group from 5pm to 6:30pm facilitated by Earl Pennycooke, a highly experienced psychotherapist specialising in racial trauma
Individual support will be provided by a team of therapists available for one-to-one emotional support in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental therapeutic space.

Remote support (start time and date TBC) includes:
  • An online peer support group
  • A helpline available evenings daily throughout the week and/or weekends.
